Conergy completes 201 MW of Philippine solar parks on time for FiT

March 30 – Germany-based downstream solar firm Conergy said today it has hooked to the grid 201 MWp of solar power capacity in the Philippines ahead of the March 15 deadline under the country’s feed-in tariff (FiT) regime.

As a result, the company has now completed a total of 274 MWp of solar projects in the Asian country, being the equivalent to more than half the current 500-MWp FiT quota for photovoltaics (PV).

The table below gives more details about the latest Conergy solar parks connected to the Philippine grid.

“Conergy is keenly aware that in regulated energy markets, solar energy can only be made available on a mass scale through the support of government and the investment and vision of energy providers. If this trend we see in the Philippines continues, the country will soon catch up with the rest of its regional neighbors in choosing to power with renewable energy,” said  Hendrik Bohne, vice president for EPC Asia.
