December 9 – SolarWindow Technologies (OTCMKTS:WNDW) will be applying its transparent power-generating coatings on flexible glass in a new project.
The company said Thursday it is expanding its product development efforts to make electricity-generating flexible glass that can be bent without breaking or cracking. Such products could be used in automotive, aircraft, and military applications, among others.
SolarWindow said this is an important expansion of its product portfolio, adding that engineers plan to coat flexible glass using methods they have been developing for rigid flat glass, such as high speed (roll-to-roll) and large area (sheet-to-sheet) manufacturing.
“The company estimates that the world’s first transparent, electricity-generating flexible glass conservatively represents a USD 25 billion [EUR 23.5bn] market.”
