to-the-point Midsummer wins order for solar cell manufacturing system
Apr 10, 2015 17:01 CEST
April 10 – Swedish company Midsummer AB today said it has secured an order for its DUO thin-film solar cell manufacturing system from an undisclosed multinational corporation.
The multi-million-dollar contract — no exact figure was provided — was signed recently after the client visited Midsummer in Sweden and tested the machine. The fully automatic deposition system will be delivered to the buyer in October, according to the announcement (http://www.midsummer.se/press.html).
Midsummer provides turnkey production lines for flexible thin-film copper, indium, gallium and selenium (CIGS) solar cells. Its process uses sputtering of all layers of the solar cell, which it says allows for scalable and cost-effective manufacturing of thin-film cells.
