Roxas & Co wins DOE deal for 50-MW Philippine solar project
October 23 – Diversified group Roxas & Company Inc (RCI) has won a service contract from the Philippine Department of Energy (DOE) to develop a 50-MW solar project in the province of Batangas.
The company will attempt to complete the solar park by the first quarter of 2016 in order to qualify for the feed-in tariff (FiT) rate of PHP-8.69 (USD 0.186/EUR 0.169) per kWh, the Philippine News Agency (PNA) reported today.
Every company that wants to qualify for FiT support needs to complete its plants before the March 15, 2016 deadline.
The RCI subsidiary that will implement the project in the Nasugbu municipality of Batangas is called Roxas Green Energy Corp. RCI is a holding company whose main assets are raw real estate and sugar-related operations.
