Japan’s JAG completes 950-kW PV system in Hokkaido
May 20 – Green infrastructure company Japan Asia Group Ltd (TYO:3751), or JAG, said today it has completed a 950-kW solar array in Japan’s Hokkaido island.
The photovoltaic (PV) array is expected to produce enough electricity to meet the annual power demand of 176 local homes. The solar system, named Sapporo Solar Way, was developed by JAG’s subsidiary Kokusai Kyogo Co Ltda.
Located in Sapporo city, the plant spreads over an area of 24,000 sq m (258,333 sq ft). Its solar panels were supplied by Japanese Kyocera Corp (TYO:6971).
Local firm NEC Networks & System Integration Corporation was responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) work. The system output is being sold to local utility Hokkaido Electric Power Company since March of this year, the company said.
Back in April, JAG also completed a 612-kW solar array in Hokkaido island.
