Daiwa Lease completes 1.2-MW PV system in Japan’s Tottori

June 17 – Daiwa Lease Co Ltd, part of Daiwa House Group, said Thursday it had finalised work on a 1.24-MW solar power facility in Japan’s Tottori prefecture.

The system began selling electricity yesterday. Its output will be sold to domestic utility Chugoku Electric Power Co Inc, says the press release.

A total of 4,960 pieces of 250-W solar modules made by Toshiba Corp (TYO:6502) were used in the solar park, giving it an expected annual power generation of 1,314,405 kWh per year, enough to supply some 280 local homes.

Daiwa invested JPY 350 million (USD 3.35m/EUR 2.97m) in the project, with maintenance and operation costs estimated at about JPY 240 million. Group subsidiaries were responsible for the plant’s design and construction and will be in charge of its maintenance and management.

Currently, Daiwa has a renewables portfolio of 78.03 MW spread over 41 locations in Japan.
