China to cut solar wind power tariffs

December 27 – China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) this week unveiled plans to lower electricity tariffs for large-scale solar and wind power plants, starting next year.
According to a statement posted on the website of the country’s central planning agency, solar power tariffs could go down by as much as 19% in 2017 while wind power will see a bit milder 15% cut from 2018 on.
The reduced tariffs will better reflect lower production costs, NDRC said, adding that the cuts will help save CNY 6 billion (USD 860 / EUR 825 million) annually.
Earlier this month, China also announced that it is cutting its 2020 solar installation target from 150 GW to a minimum of 105 GW. (http://renewables.seenews.com/news/china-cuts-dg-category-in-110-gw-pv-target-551401).
