Juwi Shizen begins construction of 14 MW PV plant in Miyagi
July 15 – Tokyo-based Juwi Shizen Energy announced on Thursday it has received an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) order for a 14-MW solar power plant in Miyagi prefecture.
The plant owner is Ishinomaki Kizuna GK, a limited liability company established by GE Energy Financial Services and Trina Solar Ltd (NYSE:TSL), says the press release.
Based in Ishinomaki city, the Ishinomaki Numazu Photovoltaic Power Plant will cover an area of 220,000 sq m and is expected to produce about 16 million kWh per year, enough to meet the annual demand of 4,400 local homes. Construction began on July 12 and should be completed by the summer of 2016. Local power utility Tohoku Electric Power Co Inc is the purchaser of Ishinomaki’s output.
Juwi Shizen Energy Operation Inc will also be in charge of the operations and maintenance (O&M) once the solar park goes live.
