Trina Solar eyes up to 1.14 GW in Q2 module shipments
May 21 – Chinese company Trina Solar Ltd (NYSE:TSL) on Thursday guided for total photovoltaic (PV) module shipments of 1,100 MW-1,140 MW in the second quarter of 2015 after 1,026.2 MW in January-March.
The photovoltaics (PV) maker said that it expects to use 150 MW to 170 MW of the modules for own solar projects this year. It also reaffirmed its full-year 2015 guidance for between 4.4 GW and 4.6 GW, some 700 MW-800 MW of which will be supplied for its downstream operations.
Furthermore, by the end of 2015, the firm expects to increase the production capacity for some types of solar equipment it currently manufactures. Details are available in the table below:
Trina Solar estimates that it will hook to the grid between 65 MW and 70 MW of solar capacity worldwide in April-June 2015. In comparison, during the first three months of the year it completed 55 MW of solar projects, including 49.99 MW in the UK and 5 MW of distributed generation (DG) PV arrays in China.
