March 10 – US solar systems installer Vivint Solar (NYSE:VSLR) has agreed to start offering Chinese photovoltaic (PV) maker Trina Solar’s (NYSE:TSL) Trinasmart modules on the residential market in the US.

The Trinasmart solution enhances the output of the PV arrays, while also lowering both installation speeds and balance of system costs. Furthermore, it improves the safety of the systems through the monitoring equipment, which is built into the junction box, thus enabling control at the module level, the manufacturer explained in a statement on Tuesday.

Vivint Solar plans to start installing Trinasmart modules as soon as possible, vice president of business development, Jan Newman, noted.
