to-the-point STEG to study adding 300 MW of solar in Tunisia
October 10 – The Tunisian Company of Electricity and Gas, also known as STEG, has agreed with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to carry out a feasibility study for up to 300 MW of solar power plants in southern Tunisia.
The project, to be implemented during the period 2017-2018, concerns the possibility of building five 50-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) plants in Medenine, Tataouine, Gafsa, Kebili, Djerba and Gabes, local media report, quoting a joint press release. The capacity could be expanded to 300 MW.
The budget for this project is USD 1.7 million (EUR 1.5m).
