to-the-point Small PV array goes online at Sao Paulo govt headquarters
July 10 – The government of Brazil’s Sao Paulo state has installed a small solar power system at its headquarters to save 730 MWh of electricity per year.
At the cost of roughly BRL 1.3 million (USD 400,000/EUR 360,500), the solar power system went online on Wednesday. The array consists of 262 photovoltaic (PV) panels, with a 310-W capacity each, covering an area of 500 sq m (5,381 sq ft).
In addition to the new solar panels, the building also had its lighting systems modernised.
This initiative is another energy efficiency project the state government has realised together with electricity distributor AES Eletropaulo.
