to-the-point New JV to deploy 2-MW floating PV system in Brazil – report
May 22 – Brazilian solar startup Sunlution is partnering with French sector company Ciel et Terre International to enter the floating solar market by adding 2 MW into the national grid, website Setor Energetico said on Thursday.
The companies signed a contract in early May, creating a joint venture named Ciel et Terre Brasil (CTB) to develop floating solar systems for use in hydropower plant (HPP) reservoirs and by sanitation companies.
Recently the Brazilian government announced a pilot project in the Balbilna dam for this technology. According to studies conducted by the Ministry of Mines and Energy, the solar power potential in Brazil’s southeast dams is estimated at 15,000 MW.
