to-the-point JGC wins EPC contract for 48-MW solar farm in Japan
April 15 – Japanese engineering company JGC Corp (TYO:1963) said on Wednesday it has won a contract to build a 48-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) power facility in Iwate prefecture.
The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) deal was awarded to JGC by Karumai Nishi Solar LLC, which acquired the project from its original developer — Renova Inc. The company plans to build the facility on about 155 ha (383 acres) of hilly, wooded land in Yamauchi, Karumai, Kunohe.
The new solar park will have the capacity to produce enough power for about 15,000 homes. It is seen to be completed in the middle of 2019.
