to-the-point Japan’s Toho Zinc adds 1 MW to Gunma PV farm
October 7 – Japanese company Toho Zinc Co Ltd, announced on Wednesday its has doubled the capacity of its photovoltaic (PV) plant in Gunma prefecture to 2 MW.
Located at the firm’s Fujioka city office, the PV system started power generation back in April 2014 with a capacity of 1 MW. After the expansion, the facility now covers an area of 30,000 sq m (322,917 sq ft).
The expanded PV plant commenced operations on September 29, 2016. Local power utility Tokyo Electric Power Company (TYO:9501), also known as TEPCO, is the sole purchaser of the plant’s output.
