to-the-point Japan’s SB Energy switches on 2.4 MW PV plant in Tochigi
October 30 – Japanese renewable energy firm SB Energy Corp announced today it has reached commercial operations at the 2.4-MW Softbank Sunlight Solar Park in Tochigi Prefecture.
The renewable energy arm of SoftBank Corp (TYO:9984) estimates that the new photovoltaic (PV) system will generate more than 2.48 million kWh per year, enough to meet the annual power demand of about 680 local homes. The solar array spreads on a site area of 3.4 ha (8 acres).
At the beginning of the month, SB Energy announced it will also build in Tochigi Prefecture a 13.9-MW PV power plant, scheduled to start commercial operations by December 2016.
