to-the-point Japan’s Nippon Comsys inaugurates 5.7-MW PV plant
August 5 – Japanese telecommunications firm Nippon Comsys Corp held today an opening ceremony for its 5.7-MW solar plant in Tochigi prefecture.
The photovoltaic (PV) system is located in the city of Nasushiobara and consists of 21,648 solar panels. Investment in the plant amounted to JPY 1.71 billion (USD 16.75m/EUR 15.11m).
Spread over an area of 106,000 square meters (1.14 million sq ft), the system is expected to generate 5.9 million kWh per year, enough to offset 3,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions annually.
In the same area, the company is also constructing a 2.9-MW PV plant scheduled for completion in March 2017.
