December 14 – Green infrastructure company Japan Asia Group Ltd (TYO:3751), or JAG, said on Friday it had completed a 1.1-MW solar rooftop array in Shizuoka Prefecture.
Located in the city of Fuji, the Fuji City Eastern Purification Center Photovoltaic (PV) Power Plant, as it is named, is expected to annually produce enough electricity to meet the demand of 300 local homes while offsetting about 558 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2).
The system is a partnership between JAG’s energy arm JAG Energy Co and Canadian Solar Power Network, or SPN.
Spreading over an area of 8,553 square meters (91,730 sq ft), the system consists of 4,312 solar panels supplied by South Korea-based Hanwha Q Cells Co Ltd (NASDAQ:HQCL).
In March this year, JAG and SPN have put online a 1.2-MW solar array, also based in the city of Fuji.
