to-the-point IFC plans USD-10m renewables investment in Malaysia –

September 22 – The International Finance Corporation (IFC) is negotiating a potential investment of at least USD 10 million (EUR 8.9m) in the renewable energy industry of Malaysia, possibly in a solar power company.

Azam Khan, who is IFC’s new country manager for Malaysia and Indonesia, shared this with financial news website Deal Street Asia, without disclosing any names. IFC is a member of the World Bank Group.

A couple of days earlier, US company SunPower Corp (NASDAQ:SPWR) said it has agreed to take full control of a joint venture with Taiwan’s AU Optronics Corp (TPE:2409) that operates an 800-MW solar cell factory in Melaka, Malaysia.
