to-the-point Canadian Solar plans all-black module debut in Americas

March 13 – Canadian Solar Inc (NASDAQ:CSIQ) will soon start selling its all-black photovoltaic (PV) module on both the South American and North American residential markets.
The new product line includes CS6K-M monocrystalline modules along with CS6K-P equipment, the company said in a statement on Wednesday (http://investors.canadiansolar.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=196781&p=irol-newsArticle&ID=2024541). In line with its “all-black concept”, they will incorporate black frames, black backsheet and dark cells in both mono- and polycrystalline cell technologies.
The company, which is based in Ontario, Canada, but has manufacturing plants in China, expects to finalise product specifications in late April. It will start production runs for the CS6K-M in May and for the CS6K-P in early June.
