November 6 – The Brazilian Ministry of Mines and Energy gave the go-ahead to two solar projects with 59.5 MW of combined capacity to enter the national Incentive Regime for Infrastructure Development (REIDI).
The projects represent investments of around BRL 273.5 million (USD 71.5m/EUR 66.4m) in total. Named UFV Caetite I and II, the plants are located in the city of Caetite, Bahia state, and are scheduled to begin operations by September 1, 2017. Both projects are owned by local firm Centrais Eolicas Itapua IV Ltda.
REIDI, launched in 2007, grants tax incentives to companies investing in infrastructure projects within the transport, energy, sanitation and irrigation sectors.
