Taiwan’s GET books 1.4% y/y increase in 2015 revenues

January 8 – Taiwanese wafer manufacturer Green Energy Technology Inc (TPE:3519), or GET, saw its revenues for the full 2015 grow by 1.4% on the year to nearly TWD 15.51 billion (USD 466m/EUR 428m).
As for December alone, the company’s sales amounted to a bit over TWD 1.53 billion, which is 16.2% higher than in the same period of 2014. On a month-to-month basis, sales also climbed by 9.4%, helped by high capacity utilisation coupled with a significant increase in both shipments and average selling prices (ASP) for wafers.
GET explained that as a result of very strong demand for its products, solar wafers will continue to be in tight supply. Looking forward, the company said that this will result in an even further ASP increase during the first quarter of the year.
GET operates as the solar arm of Taiwanese electrical and electronic products maker Tatung Group. The firm will continue seeking to manage and outsource additional production capacity “so as to fulfill long-term partners and high-end customers’ raising orders”, it noted.
