Solventus seeks permit for 78-MW PV park in Chile
October 16 – PV Lilen SpA, a Chilean subsidiary of Spanish renewable energy company Solventus SL, filed an environmental impact declaration on Thursday for the construction and operation of a photovoltaic (PV) park with a 78-MW capacity in the Coquimbo region.
The company is planning to install 279,160 solar modules in response to the increasing power demand in the region and the country. Located in Combarbala, the PV Lilen plant will be connected to Chile’s main power system SIC through a future substation of grid operator Transnet.
Thus, the proposed project includes no substations or other major transmission facilities.
The investment in the solar plant and associated installations is estimated at USD 150 million (EUR 132m) and their construction is initially scheduled for early 2016.
