CARBONDALE, Colorado – In July, global training leader Solar Energy International (SEI) hosts three industry-specific in-person trainings at the Intersolar North America conference that will expand the skills of renewable energy professionals. The conference takes place July 9-12 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Registration for the conference and training is now available. Early Bird prices are available until June 2, 2012. “Solar Energy International, which has been a leader in conference training for over 20 years, is excited to present our advanced level training workshops during this year’s Intersolar North America 2012,” said Jeff Scott, SEI’s Business Development Director. “These solar training workshops are a great way for students to transition into SEI’s Solar Professionals Certificate Program, which provides quality training to ensure a thriving professional workforce in support of the renewable energy sector.”
The intent of the SEI Solar Professionals Certificate Program is to go beyond a “certification test prep” format of training and take participants to a higher level of educational experience to truly prepare them for the solar industry and a career with more than 120 hours of industry training in each study path.”
Solar Energy International is pleased to partner with InterSolar North America to offer Advanced PV System Design training for people already established in the industry:
Location: Moscone Center
Price: Early Bird (until June 2): $ 275; Regular (until July 8 – save $ 50 from door price): $ 325; At the door: $ 375
Instructors: Brian Mehalic and Rebekah Hren
NABCEP CE credits: Task Analysis: 2, NEC: 6
This course focuses on design strategies and best practices for commercial and utility-scale PV systems, including 2011 NEC requirements, conductor sizing, balance-of-system equipment specification, and site considerations. Array-to-inverter ratios, combiner box and disconnect size and location, conductor considerations, and data monitoring – these are just a few of the factors that can make or break the financial viability of large projects, especially considering the challenges moving from design to implementation. System designers, project managers, and EPC personnel will benefit from this class, which counts for eight NABCEP Continuing Education Credit Hours.
In addition, SEI is participating in InterSolar’s free conference offerings, teaching Tools and Techniques for Commissioning and O&M and PV Syst Modeling.
Solar Energy International will also be featured as an exhibitor at the Moscone Center in San Francisco at Booth #8758, where conference attendees can learn more about the SEI Solar Professionals Certificate Program, SEI’s new Textbook Series, and more.
