PSEG acquires 16.8-MW solar project in N Carolina

November 4 – PSEG Solar Source, part of US energy group Public Service Enterprise Group (NYSE:PEG), said today it has bought a 16.8-MW solar project in North Carolina from Ecoplexus Inc.
Upon completion later this year, the facility will be known as the PSEG Turkey Creek Solar Energy Center. Ecoplexus is currently building it on approximately 75 acres of leased land in Northampton County. The plant will use some 50,000 mono-crystalline modules manufactured by Trina Solar along with Power Electronics inverters.
The solar park has already secured a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Virginia Electric and Power Company.
Now, PSEG Solar Source owns 19 utility-scale projects in 13 states. Its portfolio includes 215 MW DC of operational solar plants and 128 MW DC of assets under construction that are seen to begin power production by the end of 2016.
