January 6 – Poland’s auction for new solar, wind and hydroelectric projects of up to 1 MW awarded contracts for 1,567,288.8 MWh of power supply between 2017 and 2033.
Chinese solar company ReneSola Ltd (NYSE:SOL) said today it has won 13 solar projects of 1 MW in the southern parts of the country at the highest price achieved for that round — PLN 408.8 (USD 98.6/EUR 93.6) per MWh. The lowest was PLN 253.5/MWh.
ReneSola’s parks are seen to be connected to the grid in December. The power purchase contracts’ term is 15 years.
The Chinese firm said 76 new solar projects of about 70 MW in total have secured contracts.
The auction on December 30 was divided in several categories. In addition to the solar/wind/hydro round, companies also competed in a separate round for offtake contracts for new biogas power plants and other low-carbon power systems. The prices there went higher than for wind and solar. Details are available here.
