Phoenix Solar to build 65-MWp solar park in US for Invenergy
February 22 – German photovoltaic (PV) system integrator Phoenix Solar AG (ETR:PS4) today said its US subsidiary has won a contract from Invenergy Solar Development LLC to design and build a 65-MWp PV power plant in Nevada.
The Luning Solar Energy Project, which was developed by Invenergy Solar Development, is located on public land owned by the federal government near Luning in Mineral County.
Phoenix Solar said the facility will consist of polycrystalline modules mounted on a single axis tracking system. It will make use of advanced 1,500-V plant architecture. Construction is due to start in the first quarter of 2016.
“The project further strengthens our market position and propels us on a path of continued growth in the highly competitive US market,” said Phoenix Solar AG chief executive Tim Ryan.
The customer, Chicago-based Invenergy, has a portfolio of wind, solar and natural gas-fueled power generation and energy storage facilities in North America and Europe.
