November 11 – German large-scale solar developer Phoenix Solar AG (ETR:PS4) said today that together with Turkish partner Asunim Yenilenebilir Enerji Teknolojileri, it has hooked to the grid a 9.1-MWp photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Eastern Turkey.
The Solentegre solar park was built for customer Akfen Renewable Energies. Located in Elazig, it is now the largest solar PV power facility in Turkey and also the first governmentally licensed solar project in the country.
The German company and its Turkish partner, a member of the Asunim group, built the plant in just four months. The project was backed by the European Reconstruction and Development Bank (EBRD).
Phoenix Solar was in charge of the engineering, procurement and project management tasks, while Asunim was responsible for the actual construction. The partners will operate and maintain the park and sell the produced power to the grid.
