October 7 – Peru’s energy and mines ministry has allowed Nueva Energy SAC and Linda Energy SAC to carry out studies as part of two solar power projects with an estimated capacity of 80 MW each.
The companies received permits for feasibility studies in the southernmost Tacna region in the next 23 months, according to decrees published in the state gazette on Wednesday.
Linda Energy will evaluate its Parque Los Heroes project in the Tacna district, while the other firm obtained approval for works at its Parque Gallinazos 2 project, in Inclan.
According to a recent report of the ministry, Peru’s solar photovoltaic plants produced 19 GWh in August, out of a total 4,069 GWh generated in the country that month, versus 15 GWh in August 2014.
