NSS agrees bank funding for 33-MW PV project in Japan

December 11 – Japanese firm Nippon Solar Services (NSS) has signed a finance deal with ING Bank for а JPY-12.1-billion (USD 99.5m/EUR 90.9m) financing of a 33-MW solar project in Oita Prefecture.
This is NSS’ largest funding deal in Japan, it said on Tuesday. The Japanese company is the local investment operator for US solar developer Sonnedix, which is also the main investor in the project.
Construction works are scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2016, with commercial operation seen in 2018.
LG CNS Japan is in charge of the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) activities and will also supply the needed solar panels. Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems Corp (TMEIC), in turn, will deliver inverters.
Currently, Sonnedix has a portfolio of eight plants in Japan with a combined operating capacity of 4.5 MW. It also has 183.8 MW of projects under works in the Asian nation.
