May 4 – NEXTracker Inc, a US maker of single axis solar trackers, on Monday unveiled a 70-MW order for what it says is the largest tracking photovoltaic (PV) installation in Australia.
The company said it has mostly completed the shipments for the 70-MW facility on the Moree Plains in the state of New South Wales (NSW).
The USD-164-million (EUR 146.8m) project is owned by Spanish company Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV). It was backed with USD 101 million of funding from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) and got debt from the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC). The solar park is being built by engineering and procurement contractor Elecnor.
FRV was recently taken over by the energy division of Abdul Latif Jameel, a diversified group with dual headquarters in Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
