Meyer Burger wins CHF 22m of contracts 2015 orders increase
January 28 – Swiss solar machinery company Meyer Burger Technology AG (SWX:MBTN) on Thursday said it has secured two orders worth over CHF 22 million (USD 21.7m/EUR 19.9m) as it released key unaudited figures for 2015.
The two contracts were secured from existing photovoltaic (PV) customers in Asia. The company expects to deliver all equipment to both customers during the first half of 2016.
Meyer Burger also reported orders of CHF 418.9 million for 2015, up 28.5% from 2014. It ended the year with an order backlog of CHF 257.5 million, 35.5% higher than at the end of 2014. Meyer Burger said the strong trend in orders was due to improved investment behaviour by customers and increased technology demand to further improve solar cell production lines.
According to preliminary data, its net sales in 2015 were CHF 323.6 million, in line with its reduced guidance. The company revised its 2015 net sales forecast in November to between CHF 290 million and CHF 340 million from CHF 400 million as a result of delays in some customer projects.
