March 24 – Green infrastructure company Japan Asia Group Ltd (TYO:3751), or JAG, said today it has completed a 2-MW solar array in Japan’s Kagawa prefecture.
The Manno Solar Way plant, as it is named, is expected to produce enough electricity to meet the annual power demand of 580 local homes. The photovoltaic (PV) array, the company’s third in Kagawa prefecture, was developed by the firm’s energy arm JAG International Energy Co.
Taking up an area of 30,000 sq m (322,917 sq ft), the system consists of 7,504 solar panels supplied by China’s Yingli Green Energy Holding Co Ltd (NYSE:YGE). Japanese firm Yondenko Corp (TYO:1939) acted as engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor.
Last week, JAG also completed a 800-kW solar array in Japan’s Ibaraki prefecture while in February the company announced its intentions to raise about JPY 6.7 billion (USD 59.5m/EUR 53.3m) for solar projects in Japan.
