Japan Asia Investment completes 2-MW PV park in Aichi
August 12 – Tokyo-based Japan Asia Investment Co Ltd (TYO:8518) said today it has competed its 1.99-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) plant in Aichi prefecture, Japan.
Local utility Chubu Electric Power Co Inc (TYO:9502) will be the sole power purchaser.
The plant was built in a partnership with local firm Smart Solar Corp for a total cost of about JPY 780 million (USD 7.71m/EUR 6.88m), according to the company’s press release. It is expected to generate some 2.68 million kWh of electricity per year, enough to meet the annual demand of about 755 local households.
Earlier this month, the company began construction of another 2-MW PV plant, but in Shizuoka prefecture. Japan Asia Investment has a total capacity of 103.3 MW in its solar power portfolio, including projects in the planning stage, it noted.
