Capable of converting virtually unlimited solar energy into clean, green, most importantly, free electricity, the Instapark SPCC-15W includes a 15-Watt mono-crystalline solar panel with solar charge controller.
This solar panel is made of high efficiency mono-crystalline solar cells embedded in transparent vinyl acetate behind tempered glass with heavy back sheet ensuring maintenance free performance. Unlike amorphous solar panels, which only last about 5-7 years of continuous use, mono-crystalline solar panels can still retain over 80% of efficiency even after 25 years of continuous use. Also, the mono-crystalline panels are much more efficient and thus smaller in size while producing higher wattage.

This 10-Watt solar panel collects energy from the sun and provides a trickle charge of power to keep a 12-Volt gate opener battery or batteries fully charged. 10-Watt of solar power is recommended for dual gates, heavier gates or gates that will have numerous gate opening cycles per day. The solar panel should be installed facing South and should have access to at least 6 hours of full sun per day. GTO recommends installing a second 12-Volt gate opener battery with use of the 10-Watt solar panel. Comes with tubular steel support, mounting clips, wire connectors and 8-Feet of Low Voltage wire. Additional Low Voltage wire is also available as an additional accessory in 100-Feet, 250-Feet, 500-Feet and 1000-Feet lengths, if the solar panel will need to be placed farther away from the gate to be in full sun.

10-watt pannel provided extra power for northwest,
Pannel works great – takes 5 minutes to install, and with the additional battery, it solved my dead battery issue using only the 5-watt pannel. Initially I was going to have to use a deep-cycle (car) battery, but did not want to mess with wiring, battery housing, etc. I was very pleased I did not have to go that route. Highly recommend this additional pannel for anyone living in the north or northwest of the world.
