The company plans to install solar parks of 10 MW to 15 MW each for a total of 50 MW in Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan. Furthermore, it is currently in the process of identifying suitable land for a 100-MW solar power station in Neyveli, Tamil Nadu.
Neyveli Lignite is also holding discussions with other states for the installation of solar parks of higher capacity, Mohan added, without elaborating.
With these new solar installations, coupled with some coal and wind plants, the company aims to raise its total power production capacity to 12,221 MW from 2,740 MW currently.
