Ichigo switches on 1.57 MWp of PV systems

July 11 – Japanese real estate investor Ichigo Inc (TYO:2337) said today it started the commercial operation at two solar power plants, with a combined capacity of 1.57 MWp.
The Ichigo Toride Shimotakai Kita ECO Power Plant has the largest capacity, with 1.03 MW. Its 3,978 panels can produce around 1,173,000 kWh per year, enough to meet the annual demand of 326 households, the company said.
With 2,088 panels, the Ichigo Toride Shimotakai Minami ECO Power Plant can generate 609,000 kWh annually, the equivalent to 169 local homes.
Both plants are based in Toride city, Ibaraki prefecture. They also have the same equipment suppliers. The panels were made by China’s Yingli Solar, while Meidensha Corporation equipped it with inverters. Japan Benex Corporation served as engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor.
With the addition of the these plants, the company now operates 30 PV parks with a combined capacity of 49.32 MW in the country.
