IBC Solar E.on to open 7.45-MW solar park in Germany

January 17 – German photovoltaic (PV) systems specialist IBC Solar AG and E.on Energie Deutschland GmbH, a German sales unit of E.on SE (ETR:EOAN), will commission a 7.45-MWp solar park in Germany in mid-January.

The solar park is located in Meyenburg in Brandenburg, northeastern Germany and was built under a dedicated project company, IBC Solar said on Monday.

The Meyenburg facility is one of two projects IBC Solar was awarded contracts for as part of the Federal Network Agency’s first bidding round for large-scale solar in early 2015. The company developed and implemented the project and will also be responsible for the operation and maintenance (O&M). E.on was involved in the development and financing of the solar farm.

IBC Solar and E.on are partnering in the area of large-scale solar for the first time, with the companies already cooperating in the sale of PV systems and storage solutions.

“We are constantly expanding our range of PV services and product solutions. Open-field projects like the one in Meyenburg play an important role in this regard,” said Robert Hienz, managing director of E.on Energie Deutschland.
