Huaneng Renewables sells CNY 2bn of debentures

February 1 – Chinese wind and solar park operator Huaneng Renewables Corp Ltd (HKG:0958) said Thursday it has issued CNY 2 billion (USD 304m/EUR 279m) worth of 270-day debentures for debt repayment.
The super short-term debentures have a 2.9% coupon, which started to accrue on January 28, according to a statement on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Bank of Beijing Co Ltd and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Ltd served as bookrunner and underwriter of the public issue, respectively.
In a separate press release earlier this month, Huaneng Renewables announced that its gross power output for the full 2015 had increased by 20.5% on the year to 14,669,067.6 MWh, based on preliminary statistics. More specifically, wind generation went up by 18.6% to 13,851,505.2 MWh, while solar power production reached 817,562.4 MWh compared to just 502,669.2 MWh for 2014.
