GE meets local components rule in Brazil for wind solar inverters
June 15 – US conglomerate General Electric Co (NYSE:GE) said on Tuesday it has fulfilled the local component requirements set by the Brazilian Development Bank, or BNDES, for its solar and wind inverters.
This certification was credited to the LV5 and the DTA CFI lines, both of which are under the Power Conversion division of GE Energy Connections.
The solar inverters will be sold not only in Brazil but around the world. Since the launch of this line in 2014, GE has supplied over 1 GW and accumulated more than 4 GW in contracts globally.
In both cases, the firm can now offer its customers better access to BNDES financing terms for their wind and solar energy developments.
At present, GE is performing the equipment nationalisation process for its other divisions.
