Final rules delayed for Argentina’s 1-GW renewables tender
July 21 – Argentina has delayed the release of final specifications for its 1-GW renewables tender and the sector is worried there might not be enough time to prepare bids for the August 22 deadline.
The head of the Argentine Wind Energy Association (EAA), Erico Spinadel, told Energia Estrategic that investors need more clarity. The news portal also cited a manager at a company that wants to take part in the tender that it would be best if the government extended the deadline for project applications.
In June it was announced that developer can submit bids in the tender by August 22, with awards expected to be announced on September 28. Later, the consultation period for the draft tender rules was extended by 15 days because of significant interest from local and foreign sector players.
The final specifications have not yet been released and it is not clear if there will be a revision to the previously announced timetable.
