Eurus Energy marks completion of 4-MW PV plant in Fukushima
July 22 – Japanese firm Eurus Energy Holdings Corp said today it has held a ceremony to celebrate the completion of a 4-MW solar park in the prefecture of Fukushima.
The Eurus Fukushima Solar Park is located in the town of Kawauchi. The photovoltaic (PV) plant, which consists of 19,000 panels, started commercial operations on July 15, the company said.
The solar park’s output is expected to meet the annual power demand of about 1,300 local households and to offset around 2,500 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per year, stated Eurus.
In Fukushima alone, Eurus currently has two other PV farms and one wind farm in commercial operation. The firm is also working on two wind projects in the region.
