Dominion on track to add 56 MW of solar in Virginia by end-2016
October 25 – US energy producer Dominion (NYSE:D) said today that construction work on its three solar projects in Virginia, totalling 56 MW, is proceeding as planned and they are expected to go online by the end of the year.
As previously announced, Dominion Virginia Power hired Amec Foster Wheeler to build the 17-MW Scott Solar facility in Powhatan County, the 19-MW Woodland Solar park in Isle of Wight County and the 20-MW Whitehouse Solar plant in Louisa County.
Today, the company said that construction is underway and that the projects are at various phases of completion and on budget. Previously, it estimated the total cost of the three developments at USD 129.5 million (EUR 119m).
Dominion has pledged to add 400 MW of solar capacity in Virginia through 2020.
