Conergy UK starts school programme with 60-kW rooftop PV installation
December 16 – German downstream solar firm Conergy said today it is installing a 60-kWp rooftop solar array in the UK as part of a new programme focused specifically on educational facilities across the country.
The goal of the new “Solar On Schools Program” is to provide insight and inspiration to decision makers in the UK education sector on the potential financial, educational and environmental benefits of solar power generation. Every school participating in the programme will have the option to enter into a solar power purchase agreement (PPA).
The no upfront cost initiative will benefit nursery, primary, secondary and academy schools, as well as private, public, further education and universities in the UK.
The first installation is taking place at an Academy in West Bromwich. It commenced on December 7 and is expected to be completed in just one week.
