Chinese banks consider extending loans for 300-MW PV project in Argentina
June 10 – The Chinese Export-Import Bank (EximBank) and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) are interested in funding its 300-MW solar project in Jujuy, Argentina, the provincial government said on Wednesday.
A delegation from the province presented the photovoltaic (PV) project to the Chinese banks in Beijing and even with no agreement signed, Jujuy authorities view the discussions as positive. According to the government press release, EximBank has offered extremely favourable financial conditions for the interests of the province.
Representatives from the Chinese companies Shanghai Electric and Zhongli Talesun Solar also attended the meetings to ensure better trading conditions.
Located in the Puna region, the PV park will be the largest one in Latin America, giving Jujuy a significant position in the global renewable market, the government said.
