March 17 – German solar park and wind farm operator Capital Stage AG (ETR:CAP) said on Thursday it has bought a 5-MWp solar plant in the UK from project developer F&S Solar Concept GmbH.
With this latest buy, Capital Stage has expanded its UK solar power portfolio to nearly 80 MWp.
The newly-acquired, EUR-6-million (USD 6.8m) solar farm is located in central England, near Horton, Northamptonshire county. It was hooked to the grid in December 2015 and is now selling its output to Danish trader Neas Energy under a long-term contract.
The buyer expects this facility to generate sales of about GBP 500,000 (USD 723,000/EUR 639,000) as of the first year of full operation. It will initially finance the plant from its own funds and will subsequently seek a classic project loan.
Over the first two years, the solar park will be managed by F&S and after the end of that period, it will be handed over to Capital Stage Solar Service GmbH.
