C-Tech inaugurates 12.9-MW solar farm in Japan – report
October 19 – Japanese company C-Tech Corp on Thursday officially marked the completion of its 12.855-MW photovoltaic (PV) plant in Aichi prefecture’s city of Chita, Nikkei Technology Online said Saturday.
The firm, part of the Chubu Electric Group, was in charge of the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) for the park. Apart from 48,328 PV monocrystalline silicon panels made by Mitsubishi Electric Corp, it equipped the Solar Park Shinmaiko facility with 9.02 MW of Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems Corp’s (TMEIC) solar inverters.
The solar equipment was installed on reclaimed land at a waste disposal site in the Fifth South District of Nagoya Port. The solar farm is expected to generate approximately 15 GWh of electricity annually.
The solar project falls under the port authority’s Course of Nagoya Port strategy, which is aimed at supporting the development of renewable energy locally. It is also in line with a series of efforts for the vitalisation of local communities, according to the report.
