September 23 – The legislative assembly of Brazil’s Mato Grosso is reviewing a bill that will bring new incentives for clean energy systems in the state.
The draft, presented on Wednesday, will allow the state government to study the creation of credit lines for the implementation of solar and wind energy projects for businesses and homes.
Under the proposal, the state will also examine the possibility of making it compulsory to install solar and wind energy systems in public buildings and for new businesses in the region, the government noted.
Due to its many advantages, both for the business and the population, the government should encourage the expansion of solar energy, the president of Mato Grosso’s legislative assembly, Guilherme Maluf, said.
If the bill is approved, both actions will be added to the State Programme of Incentive Policies for the Development and Use of Solar Energy.
