Brazil’s Fotowatio presents 30-MW PV project to community

June 4 – Brazilian company Fotowatio do Brasil Projetos de Energias Renovaveis Ltda and consultancy Ampla Engenharia have presented a 30-MW photovoltaic (PV) project to the Salgadinho community in Massape, Ceara state, the local government said on Wednesday.
The park will consist of 129,000 solar modules on 100.8 ha (249 acres), according to the plan presented to the state’s superintendency of environment, Semace.
The meeting, part of the environmental licencing process, was led by Semace with the purpose of discussing questions from the community.
Fotowatio has secured a power purchase agreement for its FRV Massape park through a reserve energy auction of the Brazilian government. The company sold 1,245 GWh at a price of BRL 200.8 (USD 64.1/EUR 56.9) per MWh.
