Brazil okays 60 MW of SunEdison plants to enter incentives regime

August 19 – Brazil’s Ministry of Mines and Energy approved two solar energy projects with 59.66 MW of combined capacity to enter the national Incentive Regime for Infrastructure Development (REIDI).
The photovoltaic (PV) projects belong to the local arm of US renewables major SunEdison Inc (NYSE:SUNE).
The total cost of the projects is estimated at roughly BRL 316.7 million (USD 98m/EUR 86.5m). More details are available in the table below.

Located in Bahia state, both schemes have the same construction schedule, starting on October 1, 2016, with completion expected by August 1, 2017.
REIDI, launched in 2007, grants tax incentives to companies investing in infrastructure projects within the transport, energy, sanitation and irrigation sectors.
